Mercato Centrale, the new album by Jealousy Party is out now on Burp Publications.

The album is available in downloadable format or as a cd in a Special Packaging Limited Edition.

Inspired by Florence’s S. Lorenzo Central Market, the album is a collection of 17 tracks by Jealousy Party’s larger ensemble.
An octet featuring special guests. It’s a long album, many flavours and spices in it. It’s about desires and needs. There’s a couple of prayers too.

Expect Punca, colonial tunes, casual guitars, free blowing wind instruments, abstract collagism, giochesse, self taught r’n’r, polybeats and free soul music.

Mercato Centrale

Mercato Centrale (Central Market) is the 6th album by JP.

Performed, recorded, arranged, mixed and produced by a group extended to eight elements.

With contributions by JD Zazie and special guests.

Everyone was asked to bring a piece or some musical material. All the tracks included in MC come from a three day collective recording session set in the CPA Fi-Sud squat in Florence: eight original compositions, two cover versions, and improvised, semi-improvised and composed material.

A series of overdubbing and mixing sessions followed at Isola Cannon Jack studio in Nipozzano.

MC is a turning point in the mutant ensemble’s adventures: a chapter in the story narrated by JP’s albums, a celebration of Burp Enterprise’s music in its 20th Anniversary, the final album in Burp Publications’ MHMusic series, both an ending and the root of JP’s new music to come.

In MC there’s a crossing of many paths, musics, and agitations inside and outside the collective’s porous body.

Online there’s a site that tries to collect those footprints, an open platform in fieri to keep this adventure’s good flavour.
