JEALOUSY PARTY
In 2009 JP worked on two main studio projects.
+ and Mercato Centrale
+ is a series of recordings which sees the basic JP trio meeting special guests.
The first two were guitarist Eugenio Sanna and producer/composer Nicolas Wiese aka [-hyph-]. The next two will be percussionists Filppo Monico and Stefano Giust.
The series is produced by Burp Publications in the MHMUSIC series together with Setola Di Maiale label
Mercato Centrale is the new JP studio album. The band for this project is an octet. Still working on the mixing the album will be ended in December and hopefully printed in Spring.
By the way a live album, simply called JP LIVE, will be published before 2010 will appear. The album documents a JP recent performance as a quintet. Sweating In Flames with snakes in the shoes. Were Punca was born.
Produced by Alessandro Boscolo.
JP will play live sporadically in the rest of 2009 and tour extensively in 2010

Right there’s a new Burp Comic by Nicotina online, click on the panel and you will read it quickly and free. We still have problems in posting comix, but we are working on it. I really hope everything will be fixed fast. There’s a fat pile of comix ready to be published: a new short Piotko story by Nicotina, all in white black and green. A new number by myself for the Mental Cheese series. A couple of comix by Cecil and Vincenzo Fiore Marrese.
We are working for giving you that and more.

Charles, Barnacled’s new full-length, and first outing for ESP-Disk’, is a rollicking, propulsive offering featuring the band in some of its most intricate formations. This deftly arranged record follows Barnacled as it tightens itself into high corners, only to purposely fall down, find new ground, and pick itself back up again. This work is highly playful, even at its most intense—and it does get intense, with saxophone battles surging over electronics and highly distorted accordion fire offerings. Then all of a sudden the sound drops out, save for a plaintive lone bassoon call, or static from a short-wave radio that sounds soothing by comparison. Intertwining rhythms and melody lines then revolve around a pulse that creates a new frame of reference while also complicating it. This music invites deep listening, and rewards the curious. Often it is simply mesmerizing—essentially what adventurous minds have come to expect from the legendary ESP-Disk’ oeuvre.

Michael Jeffries: bass/baritone saxophone/modified Speak & Spell
