AMORE & MERDA

September 29th, 2009

AMORE e MERDA – A Transexual Duet About Desire.

Amore e Merda deconstructs the body to a faceless reservoir of impulses and desires. Between physical sensations and social schemes, the bodies search for identity. In an attempt to satisfy their needs buried deep within, the bodies speak.

The work of Giulia Mureddu is characterized by multilayered performances in which disarming humor, theatrical and physical dance intermingle
.

DJ Pato

from the staalplaat working space blog:
This is an evening curated by Pato. He invited Geert Jan Hobijn to bring his Staalplaat Sound System and the anarcho workshop wizzards M&M also known as xxxxx. The evening will be dedicated to radio activity.

If you come early enough (around 19.00! – the kids have to go to bed early!) you can see kids tricycling outside of the store. They will be armed with ghetto blasters or other transmitters and move as if they were remote controlled by Geert Jan who occupies the remote control centre with a 4-arm turn table.

XXXXX, Martin Howse and Martin Kuentz will install inside the shop a micro fm transistor and will also bring 30 small receivers . People will be able to listen to their anglo/german sound alchemy through small transistors. Bring your own radio if you have one.

Ruben (DJ Pato) himself will serve a blend of autonomous extreme world music net radio transmissions.

The event will present each musician in a short solo set and will then proceed to a marathon of all possible duo combinations. Each sets last for 20 minutes.

For the third time, Erase & Reset reunites an international line-up of electronic experimental musicians who have been working for years on furthering developments in electronic music and, at the same time, managed to avoid the trapdoors of fashionable genres.

Again we invited players of very diverse stylistic backgrounds and instrumentation. Many of the participants will meet & play together for the first time.

The audience is welcome to stay over night at the Sophiensaele. Bring your sleeping bag and make yourself comfortable!
