JULIAN SARTORIUS BEAT DIARY

Bit Diary” project by the Swiss drummer Julius Sartorius was started on the 1st January 2011. For one year long he recorded every day a track with a beat. The recorded tracks were created without electronic effects, samples or loops: every single hit was actually played, all the sounds are real – only overdubs were used.

For the release of his “Beat Diary” box, consisting of 365 beats pressed on 12 LPs alongside a book with 365 photos, a poster and a personal download code for all 365 compositions, nine turntablists has been invited to play the records live during the release tour in Switzerland. They are  JD Zazie, Trixa Arnold, Martin Baumgartner, dieb13, Wolfgang Fuchs, Joke Lanz, Phaerentz, DJ Sniff, Strotter Inst.
