JEALOUSY PARTY’S AGAIN NEWS

August 14th, 2007

jp-5.jpg
Some summer news about the Jealousy Party recent efforts.
It seems that the mixing of the new album “Again” is finally ended.
At this moment we allready know the tracklist even if some titles could still change.
The album consists of nine tracks.
Amaranta’s Dance
(Let The Music) Play On
Dado Stomp
No Melody
Stamps
Target Boy
Echoes Of Harlem
Danno Alla Fiera
Eclipse
Five original compositions and, surprisingly enough, four cover versions. Originally by Steve Lacy (you can listen a rough version of Stamps on their myspace page), Mingus, Ellington end Kevin Coyne.
Next step will be the mastering at Fiscerprais Studio.
Go back to older posts for more informations, pics and clips .
Anyway the album will be published during the Fall. We will let you know exactly when.
Right now they are working on a tour at the end of October. In Italy between 15 and 21 October and in Germany and the Netherlands until the end of the month. Soon the details.

For now enjoy some Jealousy Party vibes for your listening pleasure.
If in the album you will get the Jealousy Party extended group (kind of a mutant sextet/septet/octet) dealing with r&b, jazz and hardcore pop music forms in a direct way as you never heard them, here you can listen to some more free form struggling by the JP core of WJ Meatball, Mat Pogo and Edoardo Ricci.
These recordings were made during the “Again” sessions but they sound totally different compared to the material included in the album. It’s a promise and a challenge.
Get it now.

BRON Y RICCI

August 3rd, 2007

Just posted in the net here’s a testimony of some exiting music development we look at as a bright moment in our life as a collective.
Have a look here at Edoardo Ricci on alto saxophone joining the free rock combo Bron Y Aur. Was a gig organized by Burp at the squatted self organized popular center C.P.A. Fi-sud in Florence, Italy.

It was 2000 and as Burp Enterprise we were celebrating the friendship and the mutual interests’ sharing and investigation blossomed between us. It will bring at the release of Bron Y Aur’s between 13 and 16 , together with Wallace rec.; several Bron Y Aur / Jealousy Party gigs together, a number of experimental recordings. Some of it you could find in to the Jealousy Party album “Now” and more specifically a collective recording out in the soul limbo sessions line. Both out on Burp Publications.
Here you can check more of that concert.

Bron y Aur are in great shape smashing rock against some harder rocks.

By the way be sure to find “millenovecentosettantatre” their newest release out for Wallace records. Their investigation never stops, so they came out with a new born which brings some totally new flavors and details in the Bron Y Aur path.

BARNACLED ALIVE

August 2nd, 2007

barnacledBarnacled is a sound-collective born in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, at the turn of the millenium, dealing in realms as at-first-seemingly-disparate as interpretive composi-improvisation, neo-minimalist incidentalism, mindless repetition, and hot rockin’. They have records out for White Denim and Corleone. They rehearse and play shows from time to time. And now is the time. Back in the band our beloved Nicotina, who recently moved to nyc. Just two gigs for now. One in upper ny state, the other one in Providence. Don’t miss it if you can.

BACK FROM AVANTGARDE

August 1st, 2007

superman-vs-faust.jpgWe just came back home here in Berlin after three intense days at the avantgarde festival in Schiphorst. It was a very special time.
We’ve been previleged enough to be invited to this very particular and precious festival organized by Carina Varain and Jean-Herve Peron. We had the pleasure to open it and then have plenty of time just to enjoy all the performances and the delicious ospitality. Having the possibility to play and staying as guests over there was a really rare pleasure we received as a gift. grazie mille!
We drove the way from Berlin to Schiphorst in a van with Tom Zunk and Elke Postler of Syntron and Antoine Chessex of Monno who played a solo on amplified tenor saxophone. Which was at the end one of my favorite sets at the festival with the Zappi W Diermaier’s solo, but joined by Jean Hervé Peron, The Graz Orgel Pipes Orchestra, Chadbourne’s and Black’s Jack&Jim Show, Chad Popple of Gorge Trio percussions solo, Rachael Tyrell’s Spell for Rudolf Sosna performance and the Harada and Sawada duo from Japan who ended the festival. But the festival had several other interesting moments as the UFO improcollective experiment i had the chance to collaborate with. Organized by Tom Zunk and Benoît Delaune involved more than twenty humans. I would like to remember Ronny Wærnes and Zoe Skoulding for the particular interest of their expression. But actually every singular act during the festival was worth of attention, as you can check on their site.

As a trio with myself on vocal and cdplayer, jd Zazie on cd’s and turntables and Peter Schlewinski on drums we performed a 30/40 minutes set.
Which eventually was our first playing in front of an audience. And went well enough.
We were supposed to play as B Unit but Jean Hervé disliked the name at that point that we decided to call us Zazie for that special occasion and to think about the name a little bit more. I mean, if Herr Peron suggests you something with that energy he must be worth of it. So we will see if the newest group in the Burp System will be called B Unit, simply B, Zazie or maybe something completely different like Raminagrobis or Lecapeni.. we will see in the next days. By the way we recorded a very rough and wild ep out on cdr for the burp sonic inventions series on Burp Publications in coproduction with Peter’s own Minimamedia. But DJ Baba Giovanni Bauli will post soon all the right informations about it. For the moment check this track:
