Today we start officially the celebration of TWENTY years of Burp Enterprise activities.

Known internationally for our strechting time antagonist strategies we will celebrate for 16 months. Ending on 2012 new year’s eve.

Burp Enterprise was founded by myself and Nicotina in August 1990 in the Orkney Islands. On the main island of Hoy, to be more precise, when after a series of adventures we eventually found ourselves in a cosy queen-size bed. We had breakfast for a couple of days and, during the deep sleep we had, we both dreamt of making comics. The Burp Comix magazine was born under the heavenly protection of St. Olaf and with the earthly support of WJ Meatball.

Around that rag soon a group of people -originally based in Florence, Italy- sprang out, and to launch our music label Burp Sonic Inventions, which became after Burp Publications, was a natural consequence.  Jimmy Gelli, Gianni Agus, Sgwendoline, Connie Island and Albonoetus are the first five names coming to my mind of members -still on board from the beginning- of a large community of people who did the Burp history.

Many events, artefacts and banquets will come. You we’ll know it following loyally these web pages. Future never showed himself so bright!

Boiling hot here in Berlin and will be more torrid in Florence tomorrow, where i’m going to join the rest of the Jealousy Party to finally end our new album Mercato Centrale. Get ready for that! It will be out before the end of the year. I can easily tell you is the best punca album ever recorded. Colonial and muscled musical solutions in the Burp Stylee.

WJM, myself, Edoardo Ricci are on the record together with Jacopo Andreini on drums, Jimmy Gelli on electronics, Stefano Bartolini on tenor and baritone saxes and sarusophone, Andrea Caprara and Lord of Casual, Simone Nicotina Castaldi on guitar. Plus several guests as Napo of maverick hip hop unit Uochi Toki, Andrea Picchietti and Marco Giovannoni of N.E.E.M. italian ragga legend Il Generale and DJ Baba Giovanni Bauli on harp.

Focused around the building, the area and the suggestions of S. Lorenzo central market in Florence Mercato Centrale is a blast of an album with so many different musics all smashed together in the original JP flavour. there’s a couple of r&b cover versions too.

Anyway it will be time to talk about that soon. Now just a quick hello. many new things will happen in the next months. the Echtzeit Musik Festival in Berlin, Pokemachine touring in september with Horacio Pollard, Jealousy Party, Semerssuaq, myself and Ignaz Schick touring in october / november and many more delicious things and artifacts to come.

last but not least: in august Burp Enterprise will celebrate 20 years of action. So be sure to have the right spices with you and join us in this celebration party which starts now and will end at the end of 2011. Ci piace fare giri non brevi ma lunghi

The placard headphone festival
A 12h non stop headphone festival

Here we go for placard’s 8th edition, third try out of a non-stop three month streaming headphone festival.Placard is a headphone concert festival, playing with concentration, intimacy,time warp,and teleportation.This year it goes on for 97 days non stop, in different cities. It functions under a mode of open program,open for headphone rooms to create performance spaces where performers are welcomed to perform. Both the headphoneroom ‘owner’ and the performers use the inscription site to self organize the global program. The placard ‘owner’ receives in his room performers who have submitted a inscription via the site , and streams the shows to the other headphonerooms either passive listeners or waiting to perform.The site is designed to simplify communication inbetween the performers and the organizers, using automatic emails notifying of incomming inscriptions , accepted deplaced or refused perfomances; also notifying performers of the creation of headphonerooms in their city.

an exhibition by the Bambam Collective
“The Bambam Collective” is a group of Offenbach/Frankfurt and Berlin based illustrators, who will show their latest works on June  25th – in an exhibition, which will honestly be the representation of the exhibition’s title. Comics, silkscreens, drawings, posters, magazines and animations will be shown. Additionally, it can be  admired a limited group-edition, which was produced just for that event. It is a silkscreen anthology titled “Dickes Wasser”.
