{"id":5815,"date":"2011-02-14T14:36:36","date_gmt":"2011-02-14T13:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.burpenterprise.com\/burp\/"},"modified":"2011-02-14T16:17:54","modified_gmt":"2011-02-14T15:17:54","slug":"mat-pogo-long-biography","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.burpenterprise.com\/burp\/units\/mat-pogo\/mat-pogo-biography\/mat-pogo-long-biography\/","title":{"rendered":"MAT POGO more bio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.burpenterprise.com\/burp\/system-files\/units\/mat-pogo\/\"><strong>Mat Pogo<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Born in Rome is a vocalist and graphic artist now resident in Berlin<br \/>\nHe started his musical activities in the mid 80?s as a singer in several free form rock\u2019n&#8217;roll bands as <strong>Dum Dum Power<\/strong>, <strong>Electric Citizens<\/strong>, <strong>Box of Surprises<\/strong>,<strong> I Tifoni<\/strong>, <strong>Feten7<\/strong> and <strong>Minga<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In 1990 he was one of the founder members of the <strong>Burp Enterprise<\/strong> multimedia collective originally based in Florence. Still in full  activity the collective then expanded internationally developing a  musical label and publishing house called <strong>Burp Publications<\/strong> responsible  for some of the most critically acclaimed projects from unprotected  italian underground.<br \/>\nMat Pogo, beside his path as a spontaneist songwriter, moved from avant  experimental rock to more abstract material, and in 1995, together with  percussionist\/DJ <strong>Roberta WJM Andreucci<\/strong> and reed player <strong>Edoardo Ricci<\/strong>, he  founded <strong>Jealousy Party<\/strong>. Still in activity <strong>JP<\/strong> is one of the most  advanced musical units in Italy mixing with personal touch soul, improv,  avant rock, noise and error music.<\/p>\n<p>His solo set features his voice, a  microphone and some electronic  devices. He developed his own language as  a vocalist using his  experience as a rock singer, an improvisor and  radio artist where  music, sounds, anecdotic and narrative elements fuse  constantly. Weird  processed vocal eruptions, intense screams, occasional  words, pitched  mouth cavity noises and electronic textures melting  together in a very  expressive way and often with a delicate sense of  humor.<\/p>\n<p>Among many he performed with Jacopo Andreini, Paolo Cant\u00f9 , Renato  Cordovani, Carlo Actis Dato, John Dieterich, Francesco Donnini, Bruno  Dorella, Luc Ex, Augusto Forti, Gi Gasparin, Gianni Gebbia, Stefano  Giust, Xabier Iriondo, Roy Paci, Claudio Parodi, Jean Herv\u00e9 Peron, Chad  Popple, Ed Rodriguez, Michael Renkel, Eugenio Sanna, and Nicolas Wiese.
