\"\"<\/a>Born in Bolzano, JD Zazie<\/strong> is an italian sound artist and recordist based in Berlin.\u00a0Coming from a DJ and a radiophonic background JD Zazie \u00a0has explored over the years different approaches of real-time manipulation on fixed recorded sound.<\/h6>\n
In her work she redefines DJ and electroacoustic activities. As a solo performer, in small groups or large ensembles she moves in an area which is constantly stretching the borders of what is supposed to be DJ mixing, free improvisation and composed music.
\nIntended as music instruments CDjs, turntables and mixer are her tools to mix the specific sound-sources she plays (mostly electronic music, electroacoustic music, musique concr\u00e8te, field recordings and improvised music).
\nThe typology of the sound-sources varies from already existing audio publications and sound effects, to self recorded audio files \u2013 as live-set and field-recordings -,\u00a0 to selected pre-mixed material. Juxtaposition, decontextualization, fragmentation, repetition, sonic texture, scratch and error are elements of the grammar adopted to relate, organize and rearrange the sound material following her \u201c\u00c4pfelzerst\u00f6rer\u2019s method\u201d.<\/h6>\n
In her sound installations she explores everyday life, refers to urbanism and relates to sound atmosphere. In her works is easy to find the connection between her study in architecture (bachelor) and her postgrad in sound art (master in Sound Studies) at UdK Berlin.
\nThe topics she investigates correspond to those proposed in her curatorial projects (seminar: \u201cUrban design and aural spaces<\/em>\u201d, Piacenza, 2010; symposium and following publication: \u201cLa citt\u00e0 suonante\/Die klingende Stadt<\/em>\u201d, Bolzano, 2006), where an interdisciplinary and critical approach is shown.\u00a0She is co-founder of Studio Urban Resonance (w\/Olaf Sch\u00e4fer, 2009), is a member of the Italian label Burp Enterprise and co-runs Staalplaat Radio.<\/h6>\n
She was the director of Museruole Festival (IT, 2012) and has participated in numerous exhibitions and events including Audiograft 2012 (UK), Tuned City (EE), Echtzeitmusiktage 2010 (DE), STEIM\u2019s Turntable Night 7 (NL), Audioscoop \/ IntroInSitu (NL), Das kleine Fieldrecording Festival (DE), Avantgarde Festival Schiphorst (DE), Soundscape and Listening (AT).<\/h6>\n
